Exodus 20:16 (AMPC) “You shall not bear false witness…” The Hebrew phrase ed shaker means lying testimony, false evidence.
When you speak about others, you are giving testimony , before God.
Your words can:
- defend
- protect
- honor
- cover
- strengthen
Or your words can:
- accuse
- slander
- misrepresent
- expose
- harm
God judges false testimony severely.
The tongue as witness confronts us with a question:
What testimony have I given about others?
