Week 11 · Day 1
Transform Me From the Inside Out
Scripture Foundation:
Romans 12:2 (AMPC)
“Do not be conformed to this world… but be transformed (changed) by the entire renewal of your mind…”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “Be Transformed”
The Greek word for “transformed” is metamorphoō, meaning:
- to be changed in form
- to undergo inner renovation
- to be reshaped at the core
- to experience inward metamorphosis
- to become something new in essence
This is not surfacelevel improvement,
this is deep internal transformation.
Paul contrasts two forces:
1. “Do not be conformed…”
The word syschēmatizō means:
- to be shaped by external pressure
- to be molded by culture
- to adopt the patterns of the world
- to fit into ungodly systems
- to live from the outside in
Conformity is external shaping.
2. “Be transformed…”
Transformation is internal reshaping.
God does not change your life by:
- behavior modification
- religious performance
- external discipline
He changes your life by:
- renewing your mind
- reshaping your desires
- purifying your motives
- healing your inner world
- aligning your identity with truth
Transformation is not:
Transformation is:
- progressive
- intentional
- Spiritdriven
- identityrooted
- internal before external
This is sanctification at the level of inner metamorphosis.
It is not enough to look changed,
you must be changed at the core.
📖 Reference Scriptures
- 2 Corinthians 3:18, We are transformed into His image.
- Ephesians 4:23–24, Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
- Colossians 3:10, The new self is being renewed in knowledge.

- to renovate completely
- to refresh from within

- the internal atmosphere of your mind

Paul is teaching that transformation requires:

Scripture Foundation:
Psalm 51:10 (AMPC)
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “Create in Me a Clean Heart”
The Hebrew word for “create” is bara, meaning:
- to form out of nothing
- to shape by divine power
- to produce what did not previously exist
- to bring forth something entirely new
- to initiate transformation at the deepest level
David is not asking for repair,
he is asking for recreation.
The phrase “clean heart” (lev tahor) means:
- purified motives
- healed desires
- holy affections
- unpolluted intentions
- a heart aligned with God’s nature
David is not praying about behavior,
he is praying about the source of behavior.
Then he says:
“renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.”
“Right spirit” (ruach nachon) means:
- stable
- established
- unwavering
- consistent
- internally anchored
Transformation requires more than a new heart,
it requires a steadfast inner posture.
A heart not yet transformed will show:
- inconsistent devotion
- mixed motives
- emotional instability
- divided affections
- spiritual inconsistency
But a transformed heart will show:
- purity
- stability
- consistency
- humility
- alignment with God’s desires
This is sanctification at the level of heart metamorphosis.
It is not enough to behave differently,
you must desire differently.

Align My Will With Your Will
Scripture Foundation:

“Not My will, but Yours be done.”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “Not My Will”
The Greek word for “will” is thelēma, meaning:
- desire
- intention
- preference
- determination
- chosen direction
Jesus is not expressing weakness,
He is expressing perfect surrender.
The phrase “not My will” reveals:
- honest humanity
- acknowledged desire
- transparent emotion
- internal wrestling
- surrendered outcome
Transformation does not remove your will,
it brings your will into alignment.
Then Jesus says:
“but Yours be done.”
“Yours” (sos) means:
- Your desire
- Your intention
- Your purpose
- Your direction
- Your chosen path
“Be done” (ginomai) means:
- to come into existence
- to manifest
- to take shape
- to become reality
- to unfold fully
Jesus is not praying for strength to endure,
He is praying for alignment to obey.
A will not yet transformed will show:
- internal resistance
- emotional negotiation
- delayed obedience
- selective surrender
- preference over purpose
But a transformed will shows:
- yieldedness
- clarity
- obedience without bargaining
- trust without conditions

you must choose God’s will.

Transform My Emotions So They Align With Truth
Scripture Foundation:
Galatians 5:22–23 (AMPC)
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy, peace… gentleness, selfcontrol.”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “The Fruit of the Spirit”
The Greek word for “fruit” is karpos, meaning:
- evidence
- result
- visible outcome
- what grows from an internal source
- what naturally emerges from a transformed life
Paul is teaching that emotional transformation is not:
- forced
- fabricated

- pretended
It is produced.
The phrase “the work which His presence within accomplishes” reveals:
- emotions shaped by the Spirit

- responses aligned with Christ
- inner stability rooted in God
- emotional maturity formed from within
A person not yet emotionally transformed will show:

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMPC)
“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ… he is a new creation; the old… has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “New Creation”
The Greek phrase for “new creation” is kainē ktisis, meaning:
- a new kind of human
- something never seen before
- a person with a new nature
- a life with a new origin
- identity sourced from Christ, not history
Paul is not describing:
- a better version of the old you
- a repaired version of the broken you
- a polished version of the wounded you
He is describing a completely new you.
The phrase “the old has passed away” (parēlthen) means:
- it has departed

- it no longer defines you
- it no longer has authority
- it no longer has legal claim
Identity transformation requires:
- releasing old labels
- rejecting old narratives

Then Paul says:
“Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
“Fresh and new” (kaina gegonen) means:

- newly identified
Identity in Christ is not discovered,
it is revealed.

Make Transformation My Way of Life
Scripture Foundation:
2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMPC)
“And all of us… are constantly being transfigured into His very own image… from one degree of glory to another.”
🔍 Highlighted Exegesis, “Constantly Being Transfigured”
The Greek word for “transfigured” is metamorphoō, the same word used for Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration.
It means:
- to be changed in essence
- to be reshaped in nature

You are not being transformed into:
- a better version of yourself

Finally, Paul says:
“from one degree of glory to another.”
This reveals:
- transformation has levels
- transformation has stages
- transformation has dimensions
- transformation has progression
