Your Words Build Identity

Chapter 6: The Tongue as a Builder

Teaching by Andre’ D. Fullwood

Manuscript pages 87–88

Joel 3:10 (AMPC) “…Let the weak say, I am strong…” The Hebrew word gibbor (“strong”) means mighty, warrior, champion.

Identity is built by declaration.

Your words build:

  • confidence
  • courage
  • self-worth
  • purpose
  • vision
  • stability

Or your words build:

  • insecurity
  • fear
  • shame
  • doubt
  • self-sabotage

What you say about yourself becomes the structure of your identity.

Your words build who you become.

The tongue as a builder confronts us with a question:

What identity have I constructed with my vocabulary?
